“PAL” is only where it starts. Give the assistant its own name and it answers to it. Choose its voice — warm, crisp or playful, right down to one that sounds like someone you know. And give it a face: the animated themes wear a hand-painted watercolour portrait that breathes while it listens — make it your own face, a loved one, a character you like, or a single calm glowing eye.
Then dress the room to match — plum-dusk sunset, pale birch, deep card-table felt. Any name, any voice, any face, any mood. A few of the faces it might wear are below — yours would be whoever you please.
